Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about how immi.directory works for clients and professionals alike.
About the directory
What is immi.directory? ▼
immi.directory is an independent, publicly accessible directory of registered
immigration professionals in Australia and Canada. Every listing is sourced
directly from the official government registers — CICC for Canadian RCICs and
OMARA for Australian RMAs.
Is immi.directory official or government run? ▼
No. immi.directory is an independent service. We source our data from
official government registers but we are not affiliated with CICC, OMARA, the
Australian Department of Home Affairs, or Immigration, Refugees and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
How current is the data? ▼
We check the
official registers periodically. The date of the last check is shown on every
profile. For the most current registration status, always verify directly with
CICC (college-ic.ca) or OMARA (mara.gov.au).
For clients
How do I find a professional? ▼
Use the search bar at the top of any page. Search by
name, city, or credential number. You can filter by country, status, and state
or province. Only Registered (AU) and Eligible (CA) professionals appear by
default.
What does the Registry Score mean? ▼
The Registry Score (0–100)
reflects the completeness and standing of a professional's public
registration record. It is based on licence type, years registered, and the
absence of discipline history. It is not a measure of quality, skill, or
client satisfaction. A score of 80 does not mean the professional is better
than one with a score of 75.
Can I trust the reviews? ▼
Community
reviews are posted by users and are unverified — we cannot confirm the
reviewer was a client. Verified client reviews carry a badge and are subject
to additional checks. All reviews are moderated: false or defamatory reviews
are removed. Use reviews as one signal, not the only one.
A professional has no photo or bio — does that mean they are bad? ▼
No. It means they have
not claimed and enriched their profile yet. Many excellent professionals are
in the directory but have not interacted with us. Check their CICC or OMARA
record directly for authoritative information.
For professionals
My listing has wrong information. How do I fix it? ▼
Claim your profile
(see the "For Agents" page). Once claimed, you can submit corrections to
contact details, business name, and other fields. Changes to core registration
data (name, credential, status) must go through CICC or OMARA first — we sync
from the official register.
Can I remove my listing? ▼
No. The directory
reflects public register data. If your registration is cancelled or lapses,
your listing is updated to reflect that status. We cannot remove a
professional from the public register, and we do not remove public-register
data from the directory.
Someone left a false review about me. What do I do? ▼
Claim your profile and use the flag tool on the review. Provide
specifics on why the review is false or defamatory. Our moderation team
reviews within 5 business days. We remove reviews that are demonstrably false,
contain personal attacks, or violate our review policy.
Is claiming my profile free? ▼
Yes. Claiming and enriching your profile is free. We may
introduce premium features in future, but the core directory listing will
always be free.
Privacy and data
Where does the data come from? ▼
All professional data is sourced from public government registers —
CICC for Canada, OMARA for Australia. Contact details and business information
are publicly listed by those registers.
How are reviews handled? ▼
Reviewer email addresses are one-way hashed (SHA-256) for deduplication. We
never store emails in plain text and never share them. Reviews are not linked
back to any individual's identity in the database.
How do I contact you? ▼
Use the claim form on any profile to reach us. General queries:
contact information will be added when the site launches publicly.
